another vote for telling the dealer that he has to come down more than $1000.

maybe find some cycle trader adds to illustrate resell value on a '05, '06, '07

Thumbs up

HI Jaybr: Either way you are going to be very happy. I personally own a 2005 std. "Bonnie. and I haven`have a single issue. It runs like the "swiss watch" ( pardon me the comparison folks). After owning 650`"Bonnies" all my life ( please dont guess my age lol ) this one is really "heaven". Smooth, powerful , and with the same charisma as my old "Bonnies". If money is and Issue for you go for the 2005. Negociate most dealers are willing to negociate when you are ready to buy. If your cup of tea is having one new then get the 2008. Check the 2005 very well go over and around and look closely to see if the bike has being "down". I you have not own a Bonneville before youll love the compliments and the attention you are going to get at any bike gathering. Yes even the HD boys and Gals love them.Good luck with your decision. You are going to love this machine for sure. Did i mention that is a babe magnet as well? LOL.

Good luck and Ride Safe .

Let us know.

Stealthrider.

Babe magnet?

I hadn't noticed, but it's definitely an old farts magnet.

My daughter, a 23-yo babe, thinks it's ridiculous, but that might have more to do with the fact that I'm riding it.

I my opinion, I'd base the decision on the long term plan.

The way I keep my stuff, the resale value of an 05 versus and 08 wouldn't be an issue because I don't plan on swapping bikes anytime soon.

If you were a guy who trades them down the road every few years, this would obviously be something you'd want to put more focus on.

Ten years from now, the resale value difference between the two years will be negligable.

Personally, the 05 with the metal fenders and nicer tank would be for me.

I'd buy the 05, but then I'm partial to 05's. I have an 05 T100 and have had nothing major go wrong with the bike. The minor stuff was so small I didn't fix it for 6 months. A leaky copper gasket. And that's the only problem I have had with my 05. But do get the dealer to give you more than $1000 off the price, especially if you've dealt with him before.

Either way you can't go wrong with a Bonnie, but I like mine built in ENGLAND.

i had a choice to by a 07 or buy a 05 with 75 miles on it, april of 07, took the 05 for 6200. out the door, including tax. didn't like all those other charges the stealer was going for, freight, set up, paper work, ect. i have had no problems with the 05, best deal i ever had on a bike. have had two hd. got 11,000 miles on bike.

Well, now I need to sell my 06 Husqvarna SM510r, or find another dealer. I was planning on trading it in, bought it new 6 months ago from the same dealer and it has less than 100 miles on it. He won't take it on trade, and the $1000 free accessories ends this month

I think I'll call around to some other dealers tomorrow and see if there are any 07's available, don't mind driving a couple hours.

'05 Bonnie

I bought an '05 Aegian Blue Bonnie w/ 500 miles on it a few months ago for $5500 w/ no warranty. I love the color and the bike. So far no problems with it.
