Speedmaster vs America

Whats the real differnce here guys??? I want to buy a bike that is comfy (im coming from a crouch rocket) and that I can afford. hence these two models and they have the 1k in acesorie bonus money if I buy the 07 here in town. I want to go on long range rides sometimes but will mostly be cruising within 100 miles and around town daily. I like the way speedmasters rear tire and rims look. also if I buy eithe one what are the muct have accesories I should spend my 1k on??

Differnce would be dual front brakes tac and the seat. America has some chorme covers pulled back handle bars and a better seat for the better half. Speedmaster is great if you ride it by yourself.

No matter which one you get a simple seat swap and you're good to go.

Wink

Go the Speedy, a much better bike..............

Spend your dollars on new mufflers and anything cosmetic you like.

Then play.............

Chrome sucks and it is a pain in the a$$ to clean. Speedmaster all the way.

I like the bars on the America better than the Speedie. You can add a tach if you want (I did). I do not feel hindered by one disk in front when stopping. If you can test ride both, then do it. Either way, you still have a decent bike. Good Luck

2005 TBA, AI removed, debaffled pipes, added tach, leather saddle bags, backrest, and luggage rack, K&N Air Filter.

Don't listen to this little droogie! He's just being a little ultra-violent! Chrome won't get ya home!

I was in the same position as you were a couple of months ago trying to decide between the American and the Speedmaster. I went with the America for the Chrome and slighly more comfortable riding position. I used the money on a light bar, tach, sissybar w/rack. Also got chrome: chain guard, battery box and passenger peg hangers.

You'll love whichever you choose! good luch on your purchase.

I got the TBA in Sep 07, at least they gave $1200 then. I got the screen, bags(11 liters) and the high sissy bar w/rack. In hindsight, I would have bought a bigger non Triumph brand saddle bags. The winter screen is great for commuting home at night, even in SoCal it gets into the 30s at night. Added floorboards and a toe heel shifter, it is easier on the back now.
Also added JC Whitney Vstar(10mm) style mirrors, they give a wider view on the freeway.
If you can wait, get the free gear after you ride your choice bike for awhile.
