It finally happened
I kinda knew it would happen, but I didn't think it would be so soon. I went for a test ride on a BMW F800ST last week, and that was the end of me. I pick up the new bike next Friday, so my brief time with the T100 will come to an end.
Don't get me wrong, the Bonneville is a marvelous thing. It also managed to get me back into riding after an off that did me enough damage to put me off the bike for 8 months or more. But the BMW is so much more than the Triumph. I think I regretted the lack of sophistication with the Bonneville, but that's just me. I look forward to no chain maintenance, a fuel gauge, fuel injection, 6 gears, no fuel tap, increased fuel range, full fairings, ABS, etc, etc. And all for only about $2,500 more than I paid for the T100!!
Anyway, thanks to everyone who gave me advice. All the best to you all. Goodbye and good luck.
Dave.

Sorry to see you go, but good luck to you. That is also a great bike, I'm sure. Ride safe.

Well at least you can ride now without people stopping you everywhere telling you what a beautiful bike you have. That should make life easier.
Best of luck with it.

The f800st is a really nice bike and I am sure you are going to enjoy it.
about maint. From what I have heard the bike's maintenance is fairly cheap compared to other BMWs. I asked my service guy and the 6k check-up is only 125.00. Now, if the valves need adjusting, it does go up from there but because they have the new computer module that monitors valve clearances it lowers the routine mainteneance.
Nexst question, how often do they need adjustement? Hmmm...from the rumor mill not very often. As we all know that depends on how you ride the thing.
