I picked up a block of blue cheese -- and it had a "best if purchased before" date on it. Huh???? What's going to happen if I buy it later? Is it going to get moldy? It's SUPPOSED to be moldy -- what do you think the blue is?

I had my last block of blue so long that there was no white left. The whole brick had turned so dark blue that it was nearly black! I kept it hidden and didn't let my wife see it, but she did like it crumbled into salads.

My mistake was in not getting another brick before I used up my old one. Tomorrow I'll get a second brick of blue. It should be ripe enough when the current one runs out.
