Hello, Scrambler or Bonnie?
Hey fellas!
I'm researching my first street bike purchase and I know I'm going for a Triumph but I'd like to hear what the consensus is between the scrambler and the Bonneville. Are they pretty much the same bike with different styling? I got a chance to sit on a few in a showroom and noticed the sportier feel of the scrambler.
How about the exhaust tone? I've heard the Bonneville is extremely quite is the scrambler the same?
Thanks!

The best thing to do is test both and see which bike really moves you. I have had both and chose the Scrambler because of the old forest service road where I live.
Ths Scrambler TOR's are louder than the Bonnie TOR's.
Either bike is great just see which one feels like the one that you would enjoy.

I love them all. I picked a Scrambler because I seemed to fit it better. I'm 6'3". Either is cool. I'd demo if possible.

I was in the same predicament. I am going with the Scrambler. Like Motrojon I am over six feet tall and the Scram just felt better. If all goes well I oughta have the bike tomorrow.

Thanks for the replies. Pretty much what I was expecting.
I must say I love the cafe-racer style of the scrambler, but I like the riding position of the Bonneville.... well, I should say sitting position!
I'm coming from a Motocross background and I feel at home on the Bonnie but as you guys say a road test is in order!

Right on! I'm about 5'9, so I'm a little hunched over sitting on the Scrambler. Changing over handlebars is an option I've been thinking about as well.

If you like café-racer style, you might want to consider the Thruxton. I prefer the Bonneville and don't care for the Scrambler, but that's just me.
By the way, I'm about six feet tall, 34-inch inseam, and I like the way I fit on the Bonnie, but that is also a very personal preference. You just have to check them out and decide what you like best.

Meaning no disrespect, 35mm, but to me your descriptions are comparisons with a Thruxton, which is the sportier cafe' racer Triumph classic, not the Scrambler. You may be confused with the names. If you are a motocrosser, to me you would be more at home with the Scrambler, which is dual-purpose, road and off road bike with motocross bars and knobbies. The Scrambler and Bonnie (Bonneville) have neutral seating. On the Thuxton, you are hunched forward.
I may be the one who's confused. If I am, disregard.

I was talking about the scrambler. The Thruxton is too sporty for my tastes and intended use. I thought the Bonnie had a more neutral feel then the Scrambler but I like the look and style of the Scrambler more. Perhaps I shouldn't have described it as a "cafe-racer". I think more time with the bikes is needed to make a final decision.
I like the idea of driving down a dirt road on a Scrambler.... hmmmm.

I am also coming from a motocross/dirtbike background. I chose the Scram for that reason. It's hard to get the dirt out of your blood. This is going to be my first street bike, so I wanted the option to hop on a dirt road when I feel like it.
