She's alive!

Well, after 6 months, 50,000 calls to the insurance company, 1 separated shoulder, $4200 in damage and a lot of love from the NewBonneville folks, My Bonny is back in working order!

Stock (August 2006)

Post Rebuild (February 2008)

Now I just need decent weather!

how is that seat holding up for you? I had mine on for two days and the leather on the rear right side started to come unglued, so I sent it back to Brent. I really like the seat and want another one, just waiting to save a few more dollars. It's funny that with less padding than the stock seat it seemed more comfortable.

Just how good does the weather need to be?

what color is that? Looks like "hot rod black" or whatever it's called. I've been wanting to respray mine a medium/low gloss....

welcome back to the living! Your bike looks HAWT!

Thanks all. Glad to have her back together.

Cynr1023 - The seat has been ok so far. The leather in the front was pulling away a little when I got it, so I hit it with a little trim adhesive before I mounted it. I agree that the overall quality looks like they had a little too much vino with lunch at the factory, but for the difference in price to a corbin or something, I'll see how it goes.

Sweat - Yup, that's Duplicolor hotrod black on the tank and VHT flat black header paint on the exhaust. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out for a Garage re-spray.

is that from a spray can? or just a garage job with a proper gun?

details, details!

Did you use any hardener or clearcoat to protect from gasoline? is it necessary?

thanks

Nope, that's straight up rattle-can! Had to pull out a dent in the tank, then Rage body filler, high build primer-surfacer, some 400 grit sandpaper and away we went.

Didn't clear coat it (although I am a little worried about the longevity of the finish). I got some gas on it the first time I filled it up, and the paint didn't melt away immediately. I'll give an update in 6mo when I see how it's holding up.

where'd you get the paint from?

I'm going to get some and spray a test panel and see how it holds up to gasoline.
