Even Triumph knows their mirrors are ugly...
Just an observation. I know most of the members of this board don't like the looks of the stock Triumph mirrors and a lot of members have bent them lower or changed them out for aftermarket mirrors such as the bar end type. And I just received a Triumph Scrambler company brochure in the mail and in all the photos of the Scrambler, one, and usually both of the mirrors have been removed from the bike.
So even Triumph agrees their mirrors are not very photogenic. Now if they would just do something about it!
Not trying to flame or bash. Just a little bit of

Yamaha Vmax mirrors fit the Triumph mirror stalks. They are wider, good quality and look good. Here are the VMAX mirrors.

It's pretty common to see mirrors removed from promotional photographs of motorcycles. The promo photographs for the 2007 Bonneville, for example, were done both with and without mirrors.
This is often done with the rearview mirror in car photographs, too. Hollywood movies, as well.

Triumph now offers oval and tear drop mirros, plus new stems...and even drilled stems as an option on the Bonnie. Yeah...everyone knows they are fugly. One of my first purchases were V-Max mirrors from e-bay.

Not so fast with the fasteddy mirrors. My understanding is that the mirror ends fit on the triumph mirror stalks, but that the Yamaha stalks WILL NOT fit into the Triumph controls. In other words, you need to find out if the fasteddy mirror ends will fit on the Triumph stalks.

Hiya Mate,
Yeap, checked with him via email and this is what he has on the item description;
"Styling and practical! These mirror HEADS will fit on the stock America/Speedmaster stems. In this application you will NOT have vibration of the mirror that distorts images. These come mounted on stems for a Yamaha V-Max that will not fit the America/Speedmaster, however the Mirrors themselves will fit on the stock America/Speedmaster Stems."

Ugly, like beauty, is in the eye of the beholder. & I therefore pay scant regard to it.
I care about my mirrors being large enough to see clearly behind, vibration free, & unobstructive.
Although I'd never choose a mirror I didn't like, looks just doesn't come into my reckoning, & I'd never junk a perfectly functional mirror because I didn't like the look of it.

plastic made to look like metal
I ordered some of those V-Max mirrors and they arrived today. Then I discovered they're plastic! I hate plastic that's made to look like metal! Anyway, feeling like a right dunderheed (Scottish word for complete idiot), I went down to the garage to try them on, thinking 'at least the Triumph ones are metal' only to discover, once again....duh, muppet...the Triumph ones not only look like Mickey Mouse ears but they're plastic too! Here I am, trying my best to systematically rid my bike of all fake metal, plastic bits and I end up buying some more to replace the stuff I'm trying to get rid of! Numptie!
In the end, I've attached the new fake plastic mirrors in place of the old ones for now. At least they give a better all-round view...and were fairly cheap (yeah, I get it - that's why they were cheap).
Anyone know of any real metal e.g. alu, stainless, that would fit with a 60s design Bonneville with NH western bars? (I think bar-ends would be too much on wide bars). Some of the Rizomas look good but look a little too modern.
Cheers.

Wouldn't real metal weigh significantly more? Does that matter?
