No, we don't mind. Just don't come crawling back to us in July & August and complain about the heat.

Yea but i still ride in that weather. Just not as hard because all the gear makes it 100 degrees hotter. so I only use saffron as to and from work in the extreme heat season. I can't imagine not riding for more than week though. I ride here even if its 30 and gloomy. I'm sorry y'all have to wait so long to ride

& remember, those temps are in Celsius!
Around here the temps not the problem (20-30C every day) it's the 200mm of rain per day we've been averaging all week, that's keeping me off my bike.
Sure I could ride in it. But it costs too much money to just run around for no reason (tyres, fuel, wear & tear) So I like to make sure that I have the maximum potential for having fun, before I go out for a ride.
So the Street can stay undercover till the Sun returns.

I'm just 80-100 miles south of Texas94fs, and I don't know about others, but come July and August, the 98 F with 90 + humidity limits me to few rides and these are early in the morning and then off the road by 9:30 or so. The heat with high humidity is brutal and you can't (un)dress for it. Cold you can migitate some with gear, heat/humidity no such luck.
Yes, we get to ride when it's freezing in other areas, but we pay the piper heavily in the July, August and sometimes the September times frame.
I general, it all seems to even out regardless of location. (I have heard the Hawaii is great year round, but then how do you take a 1500 mile trip on a small island without see everything multiple times?)

Scratcher,
Those temps are almost exactly what we had in Calgary 3 weeks ago,...except you would need a "-" in front of them!!

I ride on the hottest of days, I have found an escape from the heat. Of course, the hottest hours of the day should be avoided. I try to set out early, 7-8am, and I wear a T-shirt, a mesh jacket, jeans, low boots, and a camel-bak. I fill the camel-bak with as much ice as I can cram in it then top it off with water. As I'm riding in the heat, I take in a big mouthful of ice cold water and drool it all over myself. Once that water hits the T-shirt and soaks it good it's like wearing an air conditioner. It's usually dry in 20 minutes or less too.
Texas weather is really only enjoyable a few months out of the year...maybe November/early December and March/April.....other than that it's too **** hot or too wet. At least Austin's humidity is lower than Houston's....meeeecchh!
