Massachusetts Riders?

Hey everyone! I'm going to be moving from Portland Oregon out to Plymouth at some point this summer and I'm wondering if there is a local club or group that gets together. I'm going to need some new people to ride with! While I'm at it, where do you ride? THANKS!

I am in Westfield, MA which is in the western part of the state. But that don't mean anything in regards to meeting up and riding as we can cross the state in 2 hours.

Wander up to MotoMarket in Acton, MA (next to Concord, on Rt 2A/119) on a good riding day - weekend, or Thursday afternoon/evening (which is "European night") and you'll meet lots of local riders. Plenty of good riding out this way, and that area is one of my favorites. Best road I know is Rt 2 between Williamstown, MA and Troy, NY - part of the "Mohawk Trail." But plenty of others. Welcome.

Flat....

Out this way it's easy to cross borders. Drift a bit North and you'll be up here in NH, or VT. Slip a bit south and you're in CT and/or RI.

Couple of years ago a pal and I took our three day, three state, two country, one provence tour.

Crossing back into the US at the Maine/Canada border the Customs agent asked how long we'd been in Canada.

43 minutes since we'd crossed over from NH.

Other Motorcycle: right, i wish. . .
i'm in boston and don't yet know of any local clubs but only started with the bonnie last june.

edit: the kancamagus hwy in NH (near N. Conway) is apparently spectacular and about 2 1/2 hours form boston--i'm gonna be hitting it up as soon as weather permits. closer to home, chickatawbutt rd (in the blue hills reservation south of boston) is great but mercilessly short.

Welcome to The South Shore.

I’m in Scituate, midway between Boston and Plymouth. Like UraniumC says, it is relatively flat but there are some nice day rides nearby. Try some of the less traveled roads in Myles Standish Monument State Reservation. It is just minutes west of Plymouth. And there are some twisty back roads just north near me. For a good day ride try the roads around Quabbin Reservior (it’s near hogwylde in Westfield and at the start of NortonBrian’s Route 2 suggestion).

I can’t give any advice on riding groups. I ride alone or with a loose group of friends all a good deal older than you. But you are certainly welcome to join us some weekend morning. We don’t talk much, we just ride!

Thanks for all the replies so far! It's too bad there are no official groups but maybe we can start something in the future. Like I said, I'm planning on living around the Plymouth area and my wife (who's from Massachusetts) has all of her family living in the Chicopee/Springfield area so I'm sure I'll be riding in Western Mass quite a bit as well. I'm glad to hear that there are a lot of day trips around. I've always wanted to take a bike trip through the Berkshires during the fall. While I'm at it, where do you people keep your EZ-Pass? Can I just put one in my jacket? Thanks again.

I'm only about a 1/2 hour to 40 minutes from Plymouth.
We will definitely get together for a ride this summer.
Bill

I'm 15 minutes from both Chicopee and Springfield and am right off exit 3 of the Mass Pike!

(looks like I'll be getting a riding buddy!)

moving to Massachusetts

You'll be welcome to ride with me and my fellow riders. We live on Cape Cod
(about 20-30 miles from Plymouth). I have an 05 Bonnie T100, and my riding friends get together frequently all year (yes, even in the winter!). We also have vintage bikes that get ridden frequently to bike events and general riding.
