Registered today to this forum and am glad I found it !! We recently took delivery of a new '07 Scrambler. ( red , of course ) We had the TOR pipes installed along with a skid plate and headlight guard. Also removed the AI.
Too much ice and snow around right now so I can't give my riding impression til we get down south -- hopefully next month ( Feb. '08 )
Plans this summer include a week touring two-up around Gaspé , Quebec. We'll travel light with a tank bag and tent.
Great forum here and much info. Just looking foreward to spring now .....
Hello and welcome from another new Scambler owner.
Like you I got it just in time to set it in my garage till Spring. The 10 miles of cold riding I did so far has me convinced that there's a fun riding season coming up.
And, like you, I chose the classic red. Is there really any other color for this bike? (Since many of us become bored and cranky over the winter, just wanted to see if we can get a good controversy started with the blue and greencycle crowd!)
I believe I remember reading in someone's post that the blue one's go faster.
The silver/red (McQueen look) is kickin', but green is cool...
My dealer in Reno tried to sell me an '06, I told him no problem if he could paint is green and silver like the '07's! I was so excited when I received my vintage Triumph calendar with the new Scrambler and vintage TR6 (both in red) inspired me to paint my '69 TR6 to match my new Scrambler. Of course the rebuild for the TR6 is not coming along as quickly as I planned for the winter time, but I am definitely learning to be more patient (good thing) and enjoying every minute of it.
Welcome. There's a spectrum of motorcycle forums ranging from absolute mayhem to extreme conservativist. Mayhem can get painfully abusive, but I've found this forum very friendly . Enjoy your bike and the site.
