Smile My thanks to you

I just returned from a test ride on my Thruxton after doing some work and my hands are still shaking with excitement! First off I want to say thanks to those who helped me directly or indirectly. Until this morning I have never touched a carburetor and from help from my brothers and sisters here on Rat.net I was able to shim and jet my carbs. It may seem like small potatoes to most here but I have never done such a thing before and the end result is that it worked! On my bone stock Thruxton I installed a Polaris bellmouth and the bike ran like garbage to I took it off. I received my Emgo pipes in the mail and they made the bike loud and not any faster. Received my jets and shims and I got scared! I had no idea where they even went! So I turned to you and was able to install 125 main’s and one shim and put the bellmouth back in and took her for a spin. Yes she is faster but more importantly to me is she ran good. Jumps off the bottom and runs to the top with no dips or stumbles. So again thanks for the help. Let’s see, what can I do next…………….

Congrats man. I know exactly how you feel, and couldn't of done it without the info and advice from this site. After years of messin' around with cheap cars and bicycles, ruining more than I fixed, wrenching on my beloved Bonne was the scariest and most satisfying work I'd ever done.

Cool

Way to go.

I wish I still had my ZREX.
Are you running pods on it.

Other than steel brake lines and a K&N my ZRX is bone stock. Got it new on 02 and have about 40,000 miles on it. May not seem like much but I was a deploying sailor at the time!

Vanson,

I'm with you. Honestly, it was intimidating at first, but in retrospect not nearly as difficult as I had anticipated making these basic mods. My last project is adding the after market mini tach. I'm more worried about this one than the others.
