Well, I can see the horizon again. For the first time in days. & though there's still plenty of cloud around, it looks like there might be a small gap in the rain.
We had a spectacular lightning show last night, along with another 75mm of rain. & I think a few rivers must be close to busting their banks by now.
So my ride today is going to be dictated by what roads are open, & which ones look like they'll give me the driest run.
But at least I'm getting a ride today.
& for that, I am truly thankfull.

& real rain too. A tropical Low has stalled on top of us, & is dumping about an inch an hour. Unfortunately the forecast is for it to hang around for the foreseeable future (It's bad when they're not game to say when it's going to end).
It hasn't even cooled the place down much, with the temp hovering around the early 90'sF (32C). It's like a pressure cooker outside, & I'm glad I've got aircon, & don't have to go outside much.
Needless to say, it's not good riding conditions. So I'm glad I took all those pictures of blue skies, towards the end of last year.
I need them to cheer me up now.
Ya see what the Motorcycle Gods do to someone who keeps rubbing it in to all of your fellow RAT's who are suffering through winter? YES he humbles you! BAHAHAHAHAH!!!!

Yeah, it was especially nice this morning. Got back out on the Beemer while the roads dried out, then took the T100 out for a spin. Knowing they'd be parked for another 6-8 weeks most of the time, I did oil and filter changes on both bikes this afternoon.

Nice break in the weather, but way too short!

Bob

Thumbs up This weekend

After a wet weekend here in So. Cal., the weather man says we should be in the mid seventies F this weekend and clear weather. Sounds like good riding weather for a trip down the coastline.

Well Hedge, as long as I get a couple of days a week, throughout the Wet, to do this.

I'm willing to be humbled, anytime The MC Deiety wants me to be.

I'm not much on taking pics but you guys up north seem pretty keen on 'em these days.
This could have gone in the "Why I love Ca." or Scratcher's "My Local. What's yours like?" threads, but this one seems good enough.
Just some shots from the local hills

These were taken 2 days after our "storms".

1. One of the local boys posted a shot of the Hollywood sign. I had to laugh.
Here is a alternate view taken from the wrong side. The road you see in the middleground is the "old" Mulholland Hwy. I use to ride it as kid. I had a Bulltaco Matador and had easy access to hundreds and hundred of fire roads. Kind a cool when your 13 and you live in the heart of one of the biggest cities in the world.

2. The Griffith Park observatory with downtown L.A. in the background.

3. Because it's a cycle forum. dowtown in background

4. If people can use scramblers as Bonnies then I can use a Bonnie as a Scrambler. Not very impressive but I actually had to find a spot that was solid enough to keep the bike upright. I still had to use a piece of plywood I brought along. Big fun when your riding it on a dead rear street tire.

By the time I got home the bike was coated with mud. It need a bath anyway.
Maybe tomarrow I'll ride to the snow. Or to the beach.
Or both.
Tomarrows forcast is a BRISK 61f. By Fri it should be up to 70f agian.

and now for something completely different

I removed the distracting print that they so rudely placed all over the page.
