For sure, it will not be super-valuable, unless it turns into a "prefire."
But you'll all look at it, for the Icon the Bonnie remains...

This is probably the closest to the truth about what will be turned out.
What would I like to see? I would like to see a Triumph Trident brought back and have them use the street triple engine as the power plant. How cool would that be?

Has there been an announcement that Triumph is going to produce a 50th Anniversary Edition of the Bonneville? They didn't exactly bust a** for the 100th Anniversary of the Company, aside from a special decal on the side covers, as on my 2003 T100. Of course, the Bonnie had only been back then for 2-3 years, and I guess that was considered good enough at the time. Maybe this time, they'll go all out.

Knowing what I do now, I would ask for;
TORS
Better front brakes.
Black lamp bucket.
Better suspension components.
Steering damper
Alloy wheels
Original logos on the baging
And if need be. Pay a premium to for a flat slide carb.

While I'd like to see a limited edition, no expense spared, reproduction of the original. If the Bud Ekin's tribute bike is any gauge. I think the most we could expect is an exclusive paint job & decals. Apart from that, I reckon it'll be a bog stock T100, at a premium price.

I think it's unlikely that anything other than brakes, suspension or cosmetics will be upgraded for a 50th anniversary edition. Some bling and a special paint job maybe. The problem is that these puppies are set up, not for performance, but to comply with all the noise and emission regulations that are out there. TORs would (by definition) not be fitted to a street machine, and considering that EFI is going to be the standard, offering a high performance carb is a non-starter as well.
Oh well... it was a nice idea

If what other brands have done in the past to celebrate milestones is any indication, I think, unfortunately, Bish is right on the money. In fact, don't be surprized if it is all bling and decals and little, if any, performance items that are not otherwise available.
Probably be a lot of clothes and other stuff that don't cost them anything much and sell for way too much.
Have we forgotten the "68" stuff already. How much did all that stuff do for performance?

South Bay Triumph built this Thrux for Triumph for the 50th anniversary (of Bonnevilles) at Bonneville in 09. Maybe Triumph will take the hint. We can dream.

Top bike. I wish Sth Bay sold their products over here. I'd have a deposit on that bike today, if they did!
Not sure about all that salt though. I know they go fast on the stuff. But you can almost see that bike rusting. I hope it got a good hose down, when it came back from its lake duties.

That South Bay machine looks sweet... but again, that isn't going to roll off any production line... K&Ns and off-road exhaust make it non-viable. There may be some more anniversary bikes on the way... for customizers only though. I will watch with interest... I love seeing other people's visions. Some work for me, some don't... but I want to see them all.
