I hope it would only be a "nod" the nacelle, and not the whole thing. I know these things are subjective, but I think it's the ugliest thing on the '59, and I'd do what everyone else did who bought one back then - junk it! If it appeared on an anniversary model, I'd do the same. But the rest of the bike is a work of art - just beautiful.

sacrilegious as this may seem, I'd like to see a single carb (or FI) smaller displacement...650 or 500 to begin the weaning process off gas as prices rise. as gas hits $4 we're going to see motorcycles gain even more popularity...the last 10 years have brought more females into the fold...and I foresee scooters, not motorcycles, as the future with 70-115 mpg.

the 60s muscle cars reigned for a season, then the Japanese/gas shortage panic produced a knee-jerk Pinto/Vega shift...I don't see why some smart individual couldn't avoid the crap step and think ahead of the curve. at $7/gal a peppy scooter will make fat Americans happier than 3 days of burping on siphoned gas.

performance and lifestyle doesn't have to become extinct with dinosaurs.

I'm thinking ABS disk brakes that actually look like drum brakes. Those would go very nicely with the fuel injection that actually looks like carbs!

A headlight nacelle would be cool. But I suspect it will be a paint & decal deal ala Golden Jubilee.

50th

I expect to see decals, more plastic chrome etc.. I believe a co can make a collectable (limited amount) & for go a lot of govt regs? A nice 790 Bonne w/ assorted colors or 1 specific one? No cats, real carbs, real exhaust like Toga's or someyhing, a tach & yes a kick start would add true authenticity to it! I think door #1 will be what we see??
Too bad ! The bike deserves a real send off for its last year of production as is now.

Boy, now is the time to start the ground swell. I hope the answer to more power isn't a 1500cc bike, as cool as that may be. I think Triumph could get to mid-70 hp at the wheel with the 865 without going crazy. Heck, most of us were there real quick with the 790.

When I read the above, I thought maybe they've already gone down that line with the std. cr@p suspension components fitted by the factory.

Stretch.

I think you're right. But it's now eight years since they designed the current Bonnie, and they must have enough feedback by now to understand what many riders really want from a Bonneville.

It will be an eye-candy jublilee badge edition.
Some will like it.
Some will covet it.
Some will bemoan it.
It will sell for more, and be worth more later, long after I'm dead.
For sure, it will not be super-valuable, unless it turns into a "prefire."
But you'll all look at it, for the Icon the Bonnie remains...
