I came across this photo on the internet.


That's Buddy Holly on the Ariel Cyclone at the far right. & two of his band members on the Triumphs (a Trophy & a T'Bird).
The pic was taken outside the dealer in Dallas where they bought the bikes, which they payed for in cash.
Apparently they only went British because the Harley salesman thought they were penniless young punks, & told them to stop pawing the bikes.
So they went down the road, bought these bikes, & then rode back down to the Harley shop to show the salesman what he'd missed out on.
Here's the bill of sale.


Great story eh?
Triumph & Rock n' Roll, certainly go back a long way.

I believe that Triumph influenced the birth of Rock 'n' Roll - long live both

The Ducati dealership here in Oklahoma City has that Ariel. And they claim that it is the on eowned by Buddy Holly, and in that photo. I don't know how true that is. Cool picture though. Buddy Holly is one of my musical heroes.
