Best bike magazine subscription?

I am trying to decide what magazine subscription to get here in Ontario, Canada. I love classic bikes of any country, especially British 60's- 70's and mods to modern classics. I am thinking Moto Euro or Motorcycle Classics out of the U.S. I am sorry but I think the new Triumph magazine after 2 issues is a disappointment. A tv commercial bound by staples. Any opinions?
Thanks!

I don't know if it would be your cup of tea but I like DicE magazine. It's a cool magazine based out of the west coast. Most of the articles are about smaller shops and do-it-yourself'ers so you won't see alot of industry news. You can get an idea of the content by going to http://www.dicemagazine.com.

The Motorcycle Classics mag you mentioned looks interesting too.

Good luck!

I'm in Canada. I buy Motorcycle Classics all the time, and I like it.
But I also buy the UK Classic Motorcycle magazines, they are way better.
On top of that I get Dutch magazines send out to me every 6 months from Europe.

The Classic UK magazines you can buy at the bigger book stores such as Chapters. Buying a subscription makes no sense because it's the same price, or more, after you figure in the freight from the UK. I am paying around 10 Cnd dollars p. issue. Should be cheaper in the US I think.

(UK) Bike magazine is great for full motorcycling coverage. Great coverage, great attitude, expensive to get here in North America.

I subscribe to Motorcycle Classics and love it! I like Classic Bike (UK), but can't justify the overseas subscription price. Besides, the ads (which I peruse as much as the articles) in Motorcycle Classics are mostly from companies on this continent, which I would rather buy from. I can't afford Euro prices and waiting weeks on end for delivery is not my cup of tea.

+1 for Motorcycle Classics and Classic Bike. I believe Classic Bike offers a t-shirt that reads: "Real Bikes for Blokes with Spanners". Cool!

Word to the wise....

Buy subscriptions on eBay.

I have several long running ones of the 'bay which were MAJOR bargains...

Hot Rod Magazine for $7.00 for 3 years!

Car & Driver for $3.45 for a year

Hemmings Classic Car for $4.00 for 3 years!!!! Thats less than the cover price for a single issue

My favorite US mag is "Rider." Clement Salvatori is a good writer in that mag. I also subscribe to Cycle World and get the AMA mag automatically with my membership. I used to subscribe to Motorcyclist but it is too "juvenile" for my taste. [Personal opinion] Cycle World is good now and then but pretty inconsistent. It has, however, a LOT more technical detail for wrenchers than does Rider.

I bought a bunch of year old British mags in bundles off of eBay and got familiar with them. That was about two years ago. My opinion then was that they were nice, glossy, mags that catered almost exclusively to the sport bike crowd. They cost over $10 new per issue in the big book stores, like Borders, so I don't buy them.

It is a hard thing to cater to all the variety of interests in motorcycling in one monthly magazine. I don't envy the editors who have to pick and choose what they publish in any given month.
