Points of the Compass Run

Well everyone, this is just to wish all happy holidays; I'll be off the air for 2 weeks or so, as my wife (pillion), son ('95 Speed Triple) and Scrambler and me are off to do a Kiwi 'Points of the Compass' Odyssey. Last week we went south 200km to the Southernmost extremity of the South Island, a place called Slope Point. Tomorrow we head north and across on the Ferry on Boxing Day to the North Island, and up the east coast (where they just had the earthquake) to East Cape; then north to Cape Reinga at the top of he country, near the most northerly point, then home, and after a couple of days rest, across to Milford Sound in the deep SW, which is as far west as one can go in this country by road anyway. Should cover about 3500-4000 kms I think; bikes are fettled, and we need a holiday! Wish us luck, and I'll take some photos and try and post them in a couple of weeks
All the best to everyone on the site, and happy Christmas - cheers, Pat

It sounds like a fun tour. I'm jealous. (only joking) Looking forward to the pics. I love your shakey old islands.

Yeah right. Like Americans & Canadians get along you mean.
We antipodeans know who our true friends are. & when the chips are down, there's no better person to have at your back than a Kiwi.
But at all othertimes, p*sstaking is the order of the day. It's usually good natured & friendly. Though two words can turn the mood very serious, Bledisloe Cup. & we're going to get it back next year too. OK?

Pix with lots of sunshine reflecting off motorcycles would be greatly appreciated here in not so sunny Ohio. Have a great trip!
