U.S. NW Floods
I've just seen the news footage of the floods in Washington & Oregon. It looks pretty wild. I hope all our member's in that area are safely high & dry (& their rides)
They're not alone in their wetness. We got out biggest overnight storm of the aproaching wet sesaon last night too, with someplaces getting as much as 5" of rain in 6 hrs. Luckilly the land is so dry from 6 months of dry weather, it'd take 3 times that much rain, to cause flooding. Unfortunately that's probably on it's way, as the monsoon trough is directly over Cairns tonight. So more rain's a certainty.
Anyhow, hope you flood bound guys are OK.
Stay Dry

Yeah, I live here in the Seattle area and it is a total mess here in Western Washington. Roads are flooded everywhere, 4 people have passed away and it's just terrible. We have a creek that is behind our house and it turned into a river from that storm. It flooded our entire greenbelt behind our house and flooded our basement crawl space. It was all the way up to our deck and missed coming in our living room/main floor by about 2 inches. It was the 2nd highest rain total for a single day in Seattle history. Here's a pic of our backyard:

Here's another pic to show you how bad it is up here. This is a picture of Chehalis, WA which is south of Seattle. Interstate 5 (the main highway from Seattle to San Diego) is under 10 feet of water in this area for a 20-mile stretch.

WazzuKirk, that's the worst I've seen it in many many years. If you pull any salmon out of your back yard, I won't tell.
I'm actually in Skagit County (for the benefit of others, the Skagit River flows south out of British Columbia, Canada, and out into the Puget Sound about 50 miles north of Seattle). We're only expecting a foot or two above flood stage up here, so it looks like south of Seattle is taking the brunt.
Scratch, thanks. Hope you folks are ok as well. Flooding is weird and unpredictable in the Pacific Northwest. The formula is usually cold, then snow, followed by a warm rain. This "make up your #$%^! mind" aspect of the area's weather can be a real ATGATT challenge to motorcyclists.

Thanks for asking Old Scratcher...I live in East Portland and our neighborhood is ok...lot's of rain...as you can see from the pictures not so for everyone. I have a buddy that lives in Vernonia and the town is literally an island right now...No traffic in or out, other than small boats.

Area Map
Here's a map of the area, showing the town of Chehalis, the subject of Wazzu Kirk's second photo. Wazzu's city, Kirkland, is in the Seattle metro area and is shown on the map (as is Revolts beautiful city of Portland, and my small town of Mount Vernon). There's no scale, but you're looking at about 400 miles/650 kilometers top to bottom.

Hey, Guys ..... best wishes. It'd be nice if the rain moved to the Southeast where it's needed.

It never does Bob.
Our state capital, Brisbane (where 60% of the people live), has been hovering between 15-20% total dam capacity for over a year. & while we in Cairns are just getting rain now, after our six month dry season. Our dam's capacity never fell below 95%. & will soon be back over the slipway. There's talk about building a pipeline down south. But it's over 1000 miles away, so it won't be cheap to build. & the environmentalist's are dead against it too.
Glad to hear everyone's OK. I hope the water's fall soon, & your back out on your rides.
Stay safe
