hi guys, been a while.
I traded the gs today for a new '07 Scrambler, silver/green. I'm off to work next week till new year, pick the bike up early January. At least I'll know what to modify and what to leave alone, having been through the mill with the first one. See you later.

Welcome Prodigal Son
Hi JohnyC. Glad to see you've come to your senses, & returned to the family. You must have missed your Scram real bad, to buy another one. I reckon I'd be the same too. So I'll keep the one I've got, & continue loading the good gear into it. Then I won't have to go through everything you're about to undertake. At least you should know a few short-cuts, having been through it all before.
Are you going to be able to ride the bike much in Jan. Or will your roads be snowbound (or worse; salted). Is that why you're planning to do your mods then? It's a good idea, & you should have an awesome ride by next spring.
Enjoy

Welcome home, John. Those of us who joined back in '03 and bother to stay active are few and far between, so it is particularly nice for this old curmudgeon to see that you will be back on a trumpet shortly.
When you get a sec, like Sweat implied, we'd be interested in a precis of your experiences with the GS and how that led you back to the fold.
Really glad you're back.

Despite being an excellent bike, I just didn't bond emotionally with the gs. I missed my old Triumph, so when I got the chance I bought another. Simple as that.

Makes perfect sense to me. But you are preaching to the choir here.
BTW how are you liking the silver/green combo? I haven't seen one in the real world yet, & I was a bit unsure about it in the photo's. but I suspect that it's one of those things that will look better in the real world, especially in the right light.
What mods are you planning for it?

Welcome back (from somebody several years your junior here ). My question about the mods you intend to do, is what do you intend to "leave alone", as you put it?

Monte's right. I'm glad to see that you and others have been with the forum for so long. I think it's clear to anyone that visits, lurks or contributes to this forum that it has depth and credibility. I'll be looking for those pics, too.
