Snow

Well here in New York It has snowed for the first time this year.Looks nice.I had not put bonnie to bed for the year yet since I cant stop riding even in the cold.So last night in prep I moved her to my OUTDOOR parking spot and covered her up for the snow.Threw the car in the street so it could battle the salt trucks. This morning I woke-up to find some ----ing a-- had stolen Bonnie,s bed clothes(cover). She is covered in the white stuff.Oh well I hope at least the cover is being used on a bike.I will buy a new cover today and give my girl a bath. Then maybe it is time to put here to bed for the winter in my friends garrage.

Dang, that sucks. Someone thought they needed it more than you. Or maybe it's a neighbor who got mad because you blocked his view of your beautiful bike!

While I fully sympathise with your loss. I can't believe you keep your Bonnie on a public street in NYC. I realise that space is at a premium there, & you probably have no choice. & I'm also led to believe that New York isn't the crime capital it used to be, since that zero-tolerance Mayor you had a few years ago. But I live in gated community in a small Aust, provincial city. Where thieves have a guard, & two secure gates to get past. & I still wake up with a start, if I hear a similar exhaust note to my Scrambler's roaring off. So how the .... do you sleep at night?
Anyhow, I hope you don't go losing anymore bike covers (or worse). It must be time to give that poor bike a bed for Winter. Eh?

Sorry to hear that they stole your cover. Fortunately, they did not steal or damage anything else (more expensive). Let us all look forward to Spring!

When you get a replacement cover, get the kind with grommets along the bottom and string a bike chain lock through the grommets underneath the Bonnie's engine. I've heard of people doing this to help prevent theft as well; I imagine an old, ratty-looking cover would work best to make thieves think the bike underneath it is equally old and ratty-looking.
