I rode it!
Just got back from the maiden voyage. I was too nervous to push it very hard. I wanted to make sure it rolled before I saw how it handled...
I took it about 5 miles from my place to downtown and back. I got a pretty solid compliment from a guy driving a Uhaul truck. I was at a light and he rolled the window down and said:
"Hey, that's custom-made right?"
I just said "Yeah, I just finished it this morning."
He replied "Dude, if I could have any bike in the world that would be it"
I was blown away! I mean, I know it's cool, but that cool? I said "thanks a lot man, it's been a ton of work" and then the light turned green.
I thought that was about the best compliement about the bike I've ever had.
Anyway, I'm going to get it on the bike jack and make sure everything is still tight like it's supposed to be, probably bleed the brakes some more (still very spongy), and I think I need to sync the carbs after taking the throttle cables on and off a few times. It was running a little rough.
Of course the weather is awful this weekend, in the 70s and very wet and nasty. I'll get everything checked and double checked then give it the thrashing it deserves. I'll get some good pics too. The thing is filthy right now, gotta clean it!

sorry to be such a tease, here's another shot:
overcast days are great for shooting pics of dirty bikes!
(sorry about the vw and the trash cans, and the neighbors dirty door)...
my brother is a pro-photographer and we're going to shoot it soon, so I'll have some mag quality shots in a few days.

Bitchen!!!!
Jeff,
I can't wait to hear the reports once you take her out and open her up. I still think it's the work of an artisan bro. She's an F'ing beaut!!!! Ride her hard and put her away wet!
Cheers,
