Been holding off on the back tire trying to find someone to black out the thrux rims (going on the T100) and bonnie hubs. The guy here that used to do that has gone MIA or some such thing. The shop can lace em for me, but they lost their PC guy. So new tires and black wheels are on hold.

'Scratcher... don't sweat the "shagged" rubber... We can run slicks in the South safely now... We haven't seen a wet road in months! Something to do with global warming and drought.... =:-0

Now that you own, um, four (?!) Bonneville variations you have to give one of them some genuinely low bars. With the new LSL's rearsets, this could be the one.

Not that I have anything against low bars, but with herniated disc in L4 and L5, degenerative disc desease, arthritis, and the general onslaught of old age just prohibit me from crunching down that low on a bike and riding it for 300 miles in a day. Love the look, hate the feel.

I don't know what all the fuss is about the rear tire. There's still three years left on the side wall.

Fine, if you plan to spend the next 3 years in the twisties (sounds reasonable to me)

I have similar ailments, & came up with the same solution. This might make the Hinkley Twins an old geezer's ride. But I'm just glad that they can keep us old geezer's riding. I thought I was going to be cage bound for the rest of my days. & the fact that these bikes can still give us the same kind of thrills that we got from the bikes of our youth, & almost keep pace with modern rocketships, is an absolute bonus, which I wasn't expecting when I bought my bike.

Musta been doin burnouts then. It's the only acceptable way to wear a tyre like that. Don't want to be accused of having a chicken strip. lol
