The Ace is cool

But you better be prepared to do a lot of stop start riding at 30 mph because of it's historical location being maintained, it means it's smack bang in the middle of London and no longer on the city limits. As it was in the 1950s it's hey day.

More of a bike venue than a bike cafe these days. A commercial enterprise.

Here I am at the Ace, last year. The flat cap was apparently not received warmly by the staff or patrons, but I still like it:

I used to hang out there all the time when I lived in London, but it got dangerous with these guys, and the hot hatch brigade too...look on youtube for more idiots there doing stupid stuff in cars.

I started riding when I was sixteen... I was always interested in road bikes and spent a few years road-racing at club and national level. I was never into trials, motocross, scrambling or stunting... just not my thing. Maybe I'm in a minority, but to me, keeping two wheels in contact with the tarmac is a prerequisite of good motorcycling. Now, I'm not saying I've never popped a wheelie or stood a bike on its nose (on the track), and maybe knowing how to handle it without freaking out makes me a better rider, but to pull this stuff on the open road only serves to strain the already poor relationships between bikers and other road users. It really irks me when a pair of squids pass me on a busy highway, impressing each other (and other five-year-olds) by keeping their front wheels high in the air. It's both dangerous and stupid... if I was a LEO, I'd throw the bloody book at them.

Rant over... Oh dear... I sound like my father

Why? What does a flat cap say about its wearer?
We don't see many of them here. So there's no real stigma attatched to them. But I've got one, which I used when driving my MX5 with its top down. & I don't want to get myself unfairly stigmatised, when travelling OS. Because I walked into the wrong pub with the wrong hat on.
So what's a cool hat for the Ace? Please tell me it's not a backwards baseball cap.
