No. It's not the long awaited comeback hit for Ricky Martin (sorry ladies). But my days ride in search of fauna to frighten with my new fangled bke gizmo. Only first I had to cross the Great Dividing Range. 'Cause there ain't no Roo's around here. & I could tell from the veiw from my bedroom balcony, that the mountains were going to be wet
& when I saw this, at the base of the Gillies. I was glad I brought my Wets
The Gillies Range was challenging. & I had my first heart-in-mouth moment in months, when the back wheel lost grip on a wet white line, & reminded me why I hate early Wet Season conditions.
The Shu-Roo's mounting system needs improving, as it pushes back against the speedo, aiming the unit too high in the air. But I'll wait until my new screen gets here next week, to sort it out properly.
I couldn't wait to cross the wet tablelands, across the Great Divide, & into the sunshine. & Roo country.
Unfortunately the Roo's weren't being co-operative, & the only marsupial I saw was a smalll wallaby, who shot across the road about 400m ahead, which is the right range, for the Shu-Roo, but it ran the wrong way. So I'm calling that a half success.
Eventually I came to the old mining town of Irvinebank.
Where I had to spend the next hour, as the only shop/pub/servo in town doesn't open (for anyone) before midday!!
Will I ever find a Roo to scare?
