Who's waiting for EFI?

From all the whinging that's been going on about non-Euro markets having to wait until 2009 for EFI Bonnies. I'm wondering if Triumph's sales might take a dip in '08, as people delay buying a new bike until the EFI arrives.
So I'm starting a poll to see how many of you guys are sitting on your cash, until you get EFI.

Bought a 07 to avoid the EFI Bonneville. Dealer told me before the show that he thought they would be going to it in 08. I understand and dont have a problem with jetting but I dont think I will spend the several hundred dollars it will take to buy a programer to adjust the EFI. Dealer told me the program for them will be exspensive to alter the fuel settings and then they would be keep to standards for warranty purposes. Simple pipe changes Okay but total hot rodding NOPE NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Something about EPA rules and Regs its happening to the HD guys and girls and will happen to us soon enough. Local HD shop charges $ 600 to change pipes and computer settings on theirs what will ours be. It could have been a sales pitch to sell an 07 but I wasn't taking the chance not being able to set my bike up my way with out big brother telling me what I could do and couldn't.

I prefer my carbs over EFI. Plus most of my body components were fabbed out of steel, and every passing year they (Triumph) converts more Bonnie parts to plastic. Glad I didn't wait any longer than I did... maybe a year sooner would have been better.

I think you'll probably find most bonnie owners prefer carbs because it's part and parcel of what they bought a bonnie for in the first place. maybe if you posted this at the cruiser forum you'd get a different consensus because if they're anything like me, they bought the cruiser because they like certain things about a vintage look but are not nearly as biased towards all vintage details like bonnie owners rend to be. I personally would prefer EFI. (and on the cruisers unlike the bonnie for some reason, EFI adds 7 HP)

I Like the way this poll is running so far. 12 votes in, & not a single one for EFI. It seems like the whinger's are just a vocal minority after all.

There are only 2 reasons I wouldn't buy an EFI model
First year glitches.
fake carb bodies.

It's just like the carbed '01s. They had lots of little problems and issues. By '03 things were sorted and good to go.

This poll is preaching to the choir.

Since you p[posted it's up to about 1/3 of people saying yes to EFI. So while it will always be more for carbs among the bonnie crowd as i already said, i think when you looked it was simply coincidental due to not many people having voted yet. I haven't voted, so you could even add one more. But as i said i bet if this poll were in the cruisers forum i think you'd see a much bigger amount. Plus i'd bet that if the EFI turns out to make these bike better in MPG, performance, starting, etc, that the numbers would go up. I just can't see many people still wanting carbs if they ride a bonnie and find it starts perfect, loses zero power at altitude and in weather, gets 5-10 more MPG, and feels stronger. (bonnie may not feel stronger, but as i said cruiser specs show a 7 HP increase over carbs) I imagine many votes would then change. people generally don't listen to anything anyone has to say about change till they experience it themselves. Then they often see the light.
