Exclamation CCs vs. HP

Everybody is hoping that Trumpet kicks out a 1500 cc whatever. Isn't the real issue HP. Do you really have to add that many CCs to get the HP? A Bonnie / BA/Speedie with 100hp seems to be what people would want. No doubt will need to be liquid cooled but can't a twin be develooped that doesn't come in at 650lbs.?

I always thought a 1200cc Speedmaster or America would fare better in the us market. For me the 1500/1600 water cooled cut down rocket isnt the least bit intresting.

I think the real issue is torque. This thing is going to have oceans of it. I'm hoping it comes with a PTO, then I can hook it up to a rotivator & plow up the garden with it. That should win the buy/don't buy argument with the missus.

I DO go by CC's when looking at a triumph in this category. i havqe zero doubt they will be sure that th bike develops the same kind of power as the rocket and 900 twins as far as HP/CC goes. I bet at worse it will be in the middle of those 2, which should put it right about 100 HP. weight i would estimate about625-650 given it will likely be watercooled and taking all elase between the twins and rocket into consideration.

I have good reason to believe that from what i have seen from the Bloor company. plus you have to understand, and i'm sure triumph is well aware of this, that if they debut a 1500 cruiser will poor power it will w/o the slightest doubt fail miserably because the motivation to buy a bike like this is based rfor the most part on performance. people who DON'T see that as the important factor will stay with the nimbler and cheaper 900's, and those who ARE concerned with power will go to a rocket or elsewhere. the only people who seem happy with low HP/per CC bikes that i see are HD owners.
