Racing Hinkley Twins

I'm surprised that we don't see many Hinkley's racing on the track. I'd have thought that they'd be quite comptetetive in the BEARS class, especially if they used race specials like the Mirage 1150. (if this already happens in the US, forgive my ignorance, we don't get any news of it here) I think they'd make for a good "single make" series too. & I'd love to see the old mud-slinging scrambles of my youth recreated. Would anybody else like to see some Hinkley's raced in anger?
If no racing organisation takes it up, it could be a good thing for rat clubs to pursue.
I know I'd be tempted to buy a trackday Thruxton. Wanna race?

When Triumph offers Suzuki/Yamaha/Kawasaki level contengency money, we might see a few more Trimpets on the track outside the Thruxton Cup series.

Oh, and at roughly 100+ lbs heavier than the original Scramblers, I'd be reluctant to do much true scrambles racing or real enduros with mine.

It is just about the money

or the lack of it, there are triumphs upto the task but there is no money, and that is the only thing that wins races any more, you can buy your way to the top if you have the dough, just like the world cup.

Yes they will, I recently just swapped out with another member that had a Thrux and wanted standard controls. It will require you to swap out everything from the rear brake system too, except for the line to the caliper and the caliper itself. Really though, it was a painless job that took all of 1-2 hours if you take your time. The shifter will be at a slightly higher position because of the Bonnie exhaust bends, but not uncomfortable. I like the look of the Thrux rear sets the most of all options, so worked out great.
