took the plunge today

and bought a bobber project bike.Too bad its all KZ650,but for the price I got a ton of project fodder.Custom KZ hardtail, new bobber seat and Mustang tank.Works Street tracker shocks,[will try these on the Bonnie],THREE complete engines,06 GSXR 600 USD forks,16 and 21" Harley wheels and tires, new GSXR 4pot calipers,[2 front,1 rear] and boxes of parts and pieces.Should give me years of tinkering.

I guess that's why God made us all different.

You see it as fun and I see as a pain.

A friend of mine has a shop he built in his back yard. He is always working on project bikes and says he likes doing that more than riding. I'd rather be riding.

Best wishes to ya.

Thanks Al.I knew you and Sweat would see something in that pile. I have tons of ideas and I was afraid some day I`d hack up my Bonnie beyond repair. This way I can tinker with Bonnie`s pipes and seats and such and save the wholesale butchery for the Kwacker.

Well, looks like some cool parts (inverted forks, nice tank, wheels look good).
Guessing you got it cheap. I paid too much for my pile of parts and have now replaced everything but the motor (rebuilt), front forks and front wheel.....
Have fun!

KZ650 was one of my recent restorations. NOTE: that is not a project; its a whole other ball game. Anyway, when I got done with it two years ago it looked like this:

Have fun! Keep us informed!

That looks awesome Monte. This is my first Kawi since my first real motorcycle,a 2 stroke 120 enduro with a rotary tranny.1-2-3-4-n-1-2-etc.Had to pay attention not to stomp it into first at 45mph.

Nice restoration Monte, I'm impressed, you're not just a pretty face !

Restorations are nice jobs for the winter, when you can't ride, unfortunately or fortunately we can ride all the year around in the north of NZ but I like working and riding on bikes too ! Doing your own thing on bikes gives you a great sense of satisfaction.

---------------
Ride on !
