screens

my opinion on screens for what its worth- I tried the dart and it keeps the wind off my chest but drives it into my helmet and there was wind buffeting me around the arms ,for its size it did a good job , tried my mates bike with the triumph factory screen but because it sat in the upright position it seemed hit the wind severely and caused realy bad buffeting he got rid of it and i dont blame him, (others like this screen so maybe its ok for some people), next i tried the mra vario screen, it could be angled back to reduce buffeting and it has wind defuser which cuts down wind velocity ,still a little wind noise, but its in a league of its own compared to the others, there is no such thing as a good looking screen but on a long trip its worth haveing in my opinion, iam not trying to influence others just trying to help people on the forum with honest feedback from my personal experience..

Windscreens can be a great addition to a bike for long slab rides if they're the right fit. It often depends on the rider's height, and the height & angle of the screen.
I'm 6'2" and the Slipstreamer Viper SS-10 works great on the Speedy. On the Kingpin I have a Memphis Shades Alley Cat that also works well.

Another thing I've noticed is that the prevailing wind or breeze can have a big effect on the buffeting. If you have any kind of strong wind it'll make things nasty.

I agree obviously strong winds do make even the best screens worse, buffeting and increased wind noise can not be completely eliminated with any screen in my opinion some screens are a lot worse than others ,and sometimes people that have paid out the cash learn to live with a screen thats carrying to much wind noise and turbulance, what this post was all about was to help people make the right choice ..

I bought the summer screen when I got the bike - it's not bad, but no comparison to the full faring on my BMW RT. Beemer riders seem to like Cee Bailey aftermarket screens - they make stuff for aircraft, and I think their technology is a cut above the rest.
