i am leaning towards the matte black, but having the street triple in matte gray makes me want to have gloss paint to see the bike shine after a good wash. Whats your take ? matte black or jet black ?
I say shiney over matt, just because I think there's something really appealing about a shiny bike. Even better if there's metal flakes in the paint... But for me, I'd take the sliver because it comes with the hand-painted stripe on the rims which I think looks really good. And because my son ordered the Red one already so that's taken...
Haven't decided to purchase one, might do it in a year or two. Thought I would fool around with their configurator to see what I am looking for. Already have my street bike. (my nineT) If I sell or trade my T100, my street twin would look something like this. (Black of course) My current T100 is for minor touring. A street twin would be set up the same.
I'm toying with the idea of getting a black one and then having the tank and fenders repainted Goodwood Green! The best color Triumph has produced, in my opinion.
Just joking, sort of -- it's not in my budget for this year. But if I do get one in a few years, and it's not available in Green, then I'm there. Already found a shop that can match the color on my current Goodwood Green 2007...
I bought a matt-black but changed the colour of the tank and fenders to a matt-graphite.
The dealers were nice enough to throw in a metallic logo instead of just painting the Triumph logo.
Painted the headlight bracket and complete surrounding area black, as well as the foot-pegs, gear-peg and foot-brake. Will be doing the same to the rim of the speedometer.
Adding a brown bench-seat and brown barrel handlebar grips.
Also got rid of the 'Street-Twin' branding. Will probably put a decal of my choice there a little later.
To be perfectly honest, I think I'm subconsciously trying to make her look as much like the T-120 Black (Matt Graphite) as I can, because I love that black/graphite/brown colour scheme.
Am personally very happy with what she is starting to look like
Here's what I've done so far with my Street Twin with new Triumph accessories: Vance & Hines exhaust, dark tint fly screen, rear seat grab rail, front brake fluid reservoir, tank knee pads, new Truxton-style handle bar end mirrors.
To make a long story short. I thought I was ordering a Jet Black Street Twin thru my dealer. When my bike came in, it was Phantom Black. I couldn't be happier with the color. Best part of this experience though was the dealer didn't charge me for the upgrade paint color. They honored the sale price of the bike we both thought I was ordering.
