I managed one ride. It wasn't raining when I left for work and the chance of showers was about 50%. Needless to say I got quite wet on my way home from work that day since I didn't pack my rain suite.
I don't mind riding in the rain but it's the cleaning up of the bike that I don't care for.

Yep - brought out my rain gear and it worked like a charm. First day I wore some standard full fingered gloves and got all "pruny" within an hour - but the next day I stopped at REI and picked up some gloves from the kayaking section. Those kept me dry!
You're right on the sharp riding - doing those low speed maneuvers for the test was certainly more difficult on wet pavement, so the practice was well worth it.
Did get out and put a dry couple hundred miles on Saturday though, up through Stillwater and north a ways and back down on the Wisconi side of the river - beautiful country. Back to rain here in Minneapolis today...
