Not a Bonneville, but an interesting 360 degree twin

I was out riding the Bonnie today and decided to stop by my favorite BMW dealer (Mathias in New Philadelphia OH). A couple of guys at the counter were looking at some photos of a flat tracker built by Ron Woods based on the new F800 engine (spec'd by BMW/built by Rotax). This ought to be one bad a** twin. Race weight, less than 325 pounds. Thought you twin lovers, especially those who like the 360 crank engines, might find this interesting.

That is pretty cool.Must be one tough motor to be a part of the frame and the mounting point for the rear shock. Probably not a lot of jumps and whoops on the flat track though.

Rod: I didn't notice until you mentioned it that it does have a rear shock. I'd like to see that in action. Would blow a lot of theories about rear shocks and flat track racing. Then again I notice it has a fairly large rear brake. Neither of which were employed in the old days...........

What would be great is if more of the other brands (other than Harley) would get behind flat track and give it a dearly needed kick in the butt! There are a few Suzis out there but not much else any more.

Good looking bike, Bob.
