Bonnies here, there, and everywhere

As many of you know, we had our annual meeting in Cambria, CA this past weekend. I'm not sure of the exact count, but I believe we had fifty-seven new bonnies there (as well as some old bonnies, Nortons, a handful of other Triumphs and other bike makes too). I am sure that Phil (Hawk) caught a picture of the really, really long line of headlights. It was a pretty amazing sight to see. To add to the joy, two people on our beloved forum graced us by coming all the way from Georgia---John (Thrux-ton-up) and Scott (Scot03Bonnie)---riding these beauties:

I've gotta tell ya...I, like many, have been oogling those bikes on-line for quite awhile now. They're even more beautiful in person! Both guys did such a phenomenal job on their respective bikes. (Oh yeah, they can ride like the friggin' wind too!)

Of course, Matt Capri (owner of South Bay Triumph) came again and brought his 1150cc Bonneville Street Tracker and a Thruxton that he is building for Triumph to run at Bonneville in September. As of this weekend, the Thrux has 105rwhp, virtually a perfect torque curve, and the air/fuel mixture couldn't be more "Johnny on the spot." To stand behind the bike at idle felt, as a my buddy, Bob (Boboso), described, like having a bird slapping its wings against your chest. Matt thinks he'll be able to get it up to 120rwhp before they get to the Flats. Pretty sick, eh?

Yeah, I know that it is, but I hope you'll do it! The party and riding are worth every minute you'd be on the road. I'm know that John and Scott would agree. Hell, we had the cops show up and threaten to take us to jail after the bark off. It ain't a party 'til the cops show up!

Sorry I missed it. I was in SLO and Paso the weekend before on a wine trip with the wife. She made me fly instead of riding the Bonnie. Drove the rental to Cambria for a day to check it out. Very cool and hope to make it next year.

Oh yeah, SLOBonnie. I was filling up the rental at the Shell station at the corner of Broad and Tank Farm on the way back to the airport and saw a sweet, tricked out Bonnie fly by. Was that you?

Very likely. Did it look like this...

(although I have made a few changes since this picture, e.g., D&Ds, bobbed rear fender, Lucas lights, etc.)? If so, then thanks for the complement. BTW...how did you enjoy our little central coast locale? I hope you did. We feel enormously blessed to be able to live here. It would have been great to have meet you. If you come back, please let me know; we'll have you over for dinner or meet you out. Cheers, Rich

Here's a pic that we took of the group (although four bonnies are missing due to dealing with a "get off"):

Hey Rich:
It was great to met you at Cambria!
We had a blast the entire week-end!
I would like to make a clarification about the HP figures that you posted.
The 105 RWHP is Matt's Flat Tracker(1147 motor) that he expects to reach 120RWHP by Bonneville time.
The Black Thruxton 988 motor ( Triumph's Factory bike for the same event)it has around 89 RWHP now and with different cams hopefully will be around 95 RWHP by Bonneville's time.
It's important for the community here to have the correct info.
Talk to you soon!

Good to know. I thought that Matt said what I reported, but I gladly defer to you. Hell, I probably had too much "hops and barley" nectar in me to get it straight anyhow.
