Call me a wimp!
Another day here in the St. Louis area of 100 deg temps with more to come. I know I'm not alone but enough is enough! If I didn't know any better I'd say it's summer. I ride home in my airconditioned cage looking at the outside temp gauge reading 103+, and seeing bikes on the road. Hats off to those determined ones.

me too. My commute is 35 miles, all stupor-slab, and a lot of it is backed up pretty heavily most days. If I'm going to sit still on the highway in 100 degree temps it will be in an air-conditioned cage w/ a stereo.
I don't ride to work anymore, since I switched jobs. It's all highway, crazy drivers, uneven lanes, debris, cell phones, construction, and now heat! No thanks! I ride the bike when I get home, after it has cooled down and traffic has died down.

I have a take home car that's kinda required of me to drive everyday, but I ain't no hurry on my days off to ride around on a bike mid-day with it being 100degs in the shade.

Me too, it's about 100F here, I'm about to leave for Annapolis from north of Baltimore (about 40 miles) in rush hour, and there's no way I'm going to sit out there in the stop'n'go with heat radiating at me from all directions.
If I knew that it would keep moving, I'd do it, but there's almost no possibility of that.
Not to mention the ever-present "possible thunderstorms".

Call me nuts, I've got my bike today. 60 miles each way, with a heavy armored coat and water proof pants on.
I ride the highway from he!! (Rt 80), the traffic stops just because some idiot see's a cop on the other side.
But it's still nice to ride the bike, I forget about the b/s I have to put up with at work.

You guys are so lucky, getting to commute in your a/c cages with stereo. Me I'm kinda poor so I gotta ride the bike while I can in 80 deg highs, minimal rural traffic, drought like conditions (no rain).
I was wondering how all of you did it in the heat. Even on the 90 deg days I am wearing the 1/2 helmet and no attgat. Weather's changing up here already, nighttime lows are in the 40's now and its leather weather for the am ride.

I'm a St. Louis wimp too. Frankly, I think we'd be courting heat stroke if we rode in full gear in this heat wave, and riding in shorts, flip-flops and a tank top isn't an option for me.
