Last week I went on 5 day ride around lake superior and along the west shore of lake michigan.
Went with a couple of guys from work. Great riding weather. Awesome views along the lake and lots of twisty roads.

went up highway 51 thru Wisconsin, picked up hwy 2 to 13 (hwy 13 is excellent) then into Duluth, MN. Hwy 61 to Thunder Bay, Ontario. Then hwy 17 to Sault Ste Marie and into the UP. Hwy 75 across the Mackinac bridge and then on to Michigan hwy 31 and 22 along the west coast down to Muskegon. Then we caught the lake express ferry to Milwaukee, and then to Ixonia.

The speedmaster ran great the whole trip, 1650 miles. THe Kawi broke a clutch cables on the 3rd day out. 3.5 hours to jury rig the repair but it held for the rest of the trip.

the attached pix are (not in sequence of trip): magpie river falls, Ontario. bikes at Grand Portage, MN, view of lake superior somewhere north of Sault ste Marie, bikes at north end of Mackinac bridge, bikes strapped down on the lake express.
