I hadn't seen this done before, so I went ahead and did it myself. Sorry, the picture is kind of blurry.

I think the "how to"s might actually be more of a deterrent rather than being any actual help. There were a lot of obstacles to overcome. Involving everything from designing and scaling, to finding a UV resistant ink to work with the plastic as a proper substrate. Not to sound like a jerk, but I may want to keep my secrets a little longer, being that I have a lot of time wrapped up with these and am debating whether or not to try to profit from them. I suppose posting that picture was just to throw some feelers out there to see what people thought. I'll try to get a better picture posted

More power to you. Ebay and Etsy are built by guys who know how to do things. If you ever make product, be sure to let all of us here know.

One of the finest mods I've seen bar none! I've always lusted after the Motogadget Chronoclassic Gauge because of their resemblance to the Smith's. That's until now! No joke. I hope you seriously consider putting these into production. If I may be so bold as to suggest a km/h option as well. If you do, let me know your price.
Pure gravy...Gravy :)

Same here. My tacho's clouding as well. Have thought about trying to remove the bevel and glass but think i would just make a big mess of it. Ive done the ones on my Commando and it was very time consuming. Then again, everything is time consuming on the beloved Commando!

I'm flattered that you guys like these things. I'm still real world testing the gauges to see how they hold up to weather and such. Making sure the gauges don't fog up after sealing them back together. I commute on this bike every weekday, year round in the Pacific Northwest, so they get exposed to a lot of rain. Also, it will take a little time to be sure that there won't be any issues with fading from UV exposure. After a few more months of abuse, I may decide to give a little tutorial on the how to of this operation. Just want to make sure I'm not going to give anyone instruction, that could lead to potential problems in the future.

Any updates?

Just ran across this thread, saw that it was posted quite a while ago.... Awesome work! Just curious, any updates since the last time? And I also was wondering how you got the VDOs open. I tried once, because I was thinking of changing the LED colors, but stopped for fear of damaging the chrome rings that seal it all shut.
