Sweat - did you get around to talking price with them?
Bob, they said $40 for a straight dyno run for hp/tq only, or $60 including the a/f ratio. I don't know why you would want to do one without the other, so I'll be doing the a/f ratio.

Truth be told, I know the bike is running strong from the seat of my pants. It's nice to put up big numbers, but I could really care less. I just want to make sure it's running right and the a/f ratio is spot on. I really just want to get a good run in before I get different carbs so I can see what my money got me.

Huh? It's a Harley dealership, not a bike shop. I don't expect them to carry anything but Harley stuff like I don't expect the VW dealer to carry Ford accessories.
He's talking about the service dept. not the parts dept. Money is money.

I bought my Uni filter from a Honda dealer. British USA doesn't stock anything but K&N or OEM.

I guess I look at this type "maintenance" a little different. I would first look for a independent company that had a dyno--the last place I would look is at a dealership, and then only at one familiar with new Triumphs. I rode 62 miles to an independent shop to get mine dynoed, and it was fun just listening to their stories about 105 hp HD's coming to their shop and leaving with a printout showing 78 hp. Maybe that could be why HD dealers have dyno's for HD's only. :-D

I found a Walker DynoTune shop (cars) about 10 miles from my home that has a DynoJet bike dyno -went to see him today and he will run both my bikes and let me do the jets etc. on the Bonnie -3 runs on each bike for $85.00 I cant do tuning yet on the Triple since my laptop does not work as of yet on the Tune Boy but the bike is tuned very well thanks to DEV. A very nice guy with all the goodies to go!! These folks are out there-just gotta find them! hope to get there next week and get the Bonnie real good .
He had a 74 Triumph that his dad gave him! Hot Rodders are Hot Rodders!

I called the local HD shop a few months ago when I was looking for a new helmet. I asked for if they had any HJC helmets. The woman replied in a snoty tone "We only carry Harley helmets."
The irony is, if I'm not mistaken, Harley helmets are actually made by HJC.

I was in the Harley Dealer there in Austin a few years ago, the one right off the hi-way, cant remember the name, but they were all very friendly and nice in there to me, and seemed to be mil friendly as well. Now the dealer in San Antonio, the older one, Alamo, maybe, they were a bunch of a-holes in there, with the whole I aint gonna help you cause these bikes will sell themselves attitude.

You guys all live in the wrong place. The Harley dealer here in Medina, Century Harley, has a Norton Commando in the front window. When I go there someone always tells me: "we like Brit bikes here, be sure to look at the one in the window".

On second thought, stay where you are. I like the lack of crowds here.
