Reading some of the older posts about the TBA's, this guy really freaked when he found out his floorboards weren't exactly even with each other.

He will really $h!t his pants if he ever figures out the engine is almost two inches to the right in the frame!

I remember the day I was sitting in front of my brand new (at the time) 1969 Bonneville and noticing that one exhaust pipe was way lower than the other and the foot pegs weren't exactly even.

It is amazing what one will notice when sitting in the garage getting tatered on Coors and staring at your ride!

This is not a perfect world.

The Corbin seat and Triumph floorboards were the best two comfort "modifications" I made to my BA. I did not particulary like the feet-forward riding position of the BA as I was used to my old Norton and Meriden era Bonneville. My calves are now pretty much vertical using the floorboards, I have several foot-placement options for longer rides, and I can now raise myself off the seat rather easily when necessary (I can't stand like the old bikes of course)..

They are too expensive, but I picked up a used set $200 shipped, so I'm not complaining.

The fit and finsh of the floorboards themselves is good, but the chrome work on the mounting brackets is poor.

The kick-stand can be a pain to engage, but being of the longer-leg variety of human, it's not too bad. It's definitely a design flaw, but it's more of an annoyance.

I'm glad I got them. Be patient and buy used.

Regards,

Tom

Tom,

I also use the footboards on one of my TBA's, I thought they did a fair job of designing them. I had a time of it getting the heel toe shifter to work right but it all worked out.

In my opinion the TBA is an excellent platform for one to customize with as they have an excellent selection of "farkles" to choose from.

I actually have 2 TBA's one fully dressed, and one totally stripped for solo use. I have half a notion to get a third and hack it. " will take your advice and be patient and buy used". It will be for my dogs anyway and they don't care what year a bike is, they just want to ride.

I used part of my $500- free gear voucher for the boards so I am out nothing.

I too had a time with the side stand but am used to it now, no big deal.

Ride safe
