1100cc Big bore.

Well what can I say, I started with Jurgen's Billet barrels last year and dimensions of Wiseco's 5mm oversize pistons for the Honda CR450, to build up my 1100cc kit. After changing direction and having Bill Gateley supply me pistons, gaskets and liners for the barrels I have finally managed to ride over 100 miles today, on what I think is only the second 1100cc Bonneville on the road!

The performance is astounding, the roll on grunt in any gear has made the whole project worth while, the engine should have been made this way when Triumph first brought the Bonneville out. I would have had one in 2001.

Excellent modification and I would recommend it to anybody!

Hi Phil!
Having gobs of torque totally changes the way you ride the bike doesn't it?!! So, what's the rest of the setup, did you change carbs and cams, too?
I haven't looked for your other posts yet, but didn't you just come back from the TT?? How was that? I remember you were torn up a little over whther or not to do this barrel and piston kit before you rode it on that trip.

The head, cams, carbs are all standard, when I get chance I'll dyno it.

Makin excuses to ride - I can't keep off it. The torque is sooo addictive, any gear turn the loud handle and it pulls like a train, fantastic out of corners - I put a 1000cc kit on a T160 trident and thought that was good but this is the best mod I have ever done. Brilliant, awesome.

Did the cases have to be machined, and what did that cost?

Daz, I believe I paid $350 for my upper case to be machined.
