HI ! I am thinking about powder coating the headers on my 07 bonnie, can any one give me some suggestions on on the best way to do this, do i need to have them treated etc. many thanks

You need to talk to a plating shop...I don't believe powder coating will hold up on the headers. I had mine black ceramic coated 15000 miles ago and they have held up fine. :-D

RedBird is probably right. However, my shop that does powder coating also offers ceramic coating. Make inquiries.

If your going to the trouble of coating them... I'd suggest ceramic coating over powder coating. The big advantage of ceramic coating is heat dissipation. They'll run cooler and cool down waaaaaay faster.

I also had mine ceramic coated. $90.00 plus shipping for both headers and the adapter pipes. Just send them by UPS/FED-EX.

You can have your headers powder coated if you wish. They now have a high temp powder specifically designed for headers and manifold. I've not coated my pipes so can't comment on either one but just thought I'd let you know it's available.
