I finally got all my finances in order for my new Scrambler,so now all I gotta do is figure out where I'm gonna buy.
The contenders are: AZ SuperBike,Phoenix International Motorsports, or Euro Motorsports Scottsdale. Also in the mix is South Bay Triumph, in California.
Did any of you buy your bike from one of these places? If so,here's your chance to gripe, praise, rant,or moan. What can you tell me? C'mon, we're pretty much anonymous here, tell me what you really think!
How were you treated after the sale? Was warranty work done in a timely manner? How about regular maintenance work? Have you had any inordinate problem getting parts? Anything else? Good or bad?
If you work for one of these places,I openly invite you to make your case with me here(or PM me). But please, tell me you are doing so.
The reason South Bay Triumph is under consideration,is that they have a couple of red and white '06s in stock, which is really what I am looking for. The locals really haven't given me a straight answer about whether or not they can come up with an '06. I am just not too crazy about the black engine on the '07. I think it detracts from the retro styling of the bike, which is a big part of its appeal for me.
I'll admit that the idea of picking up my new Scrambler in Cali, then riding up and down the PCH for awhile, before heading back across the desert, to the Valley of the Sun, holds a lot of appeal for me,but I probably just won't be able to take the time to do that.
Thanks in advance for your advise.
:chug:
Cheers!
Bruce

But we have Sour Cream and Chives!
Good luck on finding a good dealer. I had three in my area (in my area=400 miles radius)
I got very lucky with Big Twin Cycles in Boise. They were great to work with over the phone, answering any question I called with and even better in person.

IMHO, where you purchase the bike is not nearly as important as where you get it serviced. I believe many have purchased bikes from South Bay Triumph, and if my memory is correct, it is always listed as one of the few good dealerships in California by the forum members. The owner, Matt Capri, is an old racer of Triumphs from the past; and he has built some really nice "hot rods" out of the new bonnies. :-D
Good luck,
Larry

I'd go with Euro Motorsports in Scottsdale. I went golfing down in Scottsdale a couple of months ago, climbed camelback too!, and stopped in. The folks there are nice and answer all of your questions like you're going to buy a bike. I told them up front I already had one and was just looking. But for piece of mind I'd try to get a dealer as close to you as you can. A couple of us here got really lucky with Big Twin here in Boise. Small shop but they know what they're doing. Props to Houston at the store. You can walk in and the son-of-a-beach knows the part/service you need by the expression on your face.

Thanks for the comments,guys.
Redbird- The only trouble with South Bay is that it is in L.A.,while I am just outside of Phoenix. Not insurmountable as far as a new purchase goes, but possibly not the best choice as far as service is concerned.
jimmyc- I have heard lots of good about Euro Motorsports as well, on the AZ-RAT forum, and I have emailed back and forth with the owner, David Slepak. At this point they are at the top of my list. They are only about 20 miles from me. Too bad AZ superbike is only about 5 minutes from my house, because I have been repeatedly steered away from them. Additionally, although they are a multi-brand dealer, selling Aprilia, and Ducati,as well as Triumph, with probably about 50 bikes packed into their showroom, when I peeked into their "service dept." it was tiny. Literally barely larger than my living room. And, there were only two bikes in there being serviced.Either their mechanic is really good,or no one trusts them to work on their bikes.
Idaho guys- No slight meant to the great state of Idaho. I love your potatos, really. But sour cream and chives? Down here it's chili, cheese, and jalapenos. (Does Dan Quale spell Idaho "Idahoe"?)
:chug:
Cheers!
