The previous owner of my Suzuki used chain wax. It was on there so thick I could hardly pivot any of the links, it took an industrial de-greaser called Strafe to got it off the chain. I use PJ-1 clear and it seems to work but now with only 11k miles the chain is starting to show the infamous Red Dust. That means the o rings have dried out and failed and the pins are starting to go. It still passes the "pull straight back off the sprocket" test and the "don't have to adjust it every hundred miles" test but I doubt I'll get the same 40k mileage out of this chain my anal attention to chain maintenance gave me with the Trophy.

As I recall my '01 Bandit went about 17k on the stock RK chain, when I replace this one I'll see if I can find a Regina like the Trophy had.

The T100 has had Pro Honda chain spray and now PJ-1 clear since new and has needed only 1 adjustment in 8K miles and it didn't REALLY even need that, I was just bored and it was towards the outer limit of freeplay. I could have left it alone and been fine.

Spray a bunch of WD-40 on a rag, grab the chain and spin the back tire a bunch...it'll come clean fairly easy.

I agree I spray the pi** outa it w/ WD 40 & an old washcloth. It its gotta lot sand on her I ll use some kerosene & a good brush. I clean mine every 2nd wax, had no problems. I think a lot has to do people (overwaxing) the chain. I did @ 1st. This stuff will last a good 800 mi between application. Maybe more if riding conditions not dirty. If it looks slick/ shiny- its ok. Still gotta love it!!
