Are there different models/designs of the short TORS?
I had a new left side pipe put on after my rear ender, and it seems apparent to me that the internal pipe (is that the right word?) has a different diameter on the left side than on the right. I am noticing a dramatic difference in popping coming from the left. Now it may be that the service guys did not recognize the difference and just mounted the new pipe, expecting it to perform to the same specs as the original.
Can it be re-tuned/calibrated to co-exist with the right side?

Hope I'm making some sense here; although I wouldn't be surprised if you're going, "What the heck is that goof ball Golfer going on about this time?"

:???:

Yes, i've always read that there are as many as 3 variations. You should take the bike in and let them know that you need a whole new set unless they can get another like your old one. But they may be an older model thats no longer made. You might have to call the insurance co and explain it to show that they need to get you a whole new set ! It's always something ain't it? You just cannot win.

Grrr... That's exactly what I was afraid someone was going to say.

Sigh.

The other Bonnies suffer the same fate as well. Ever tighten noise regulations have made our pipes more strangled each year.My 04 needed an 1-1/4 bit to start a bafflectomy, but no way would that fit inside the cans I got from Sweats 06. The internals are different also in regard to baffle placement and interconnects. Good luck.

tba-sometime last week, I saw a post indicating that the method for cutting out baffles on stock bonnie silencers was slightly different for very new bonnies, suggesting that Triumph had slightly changed the ends of the stockers. So if you think there is a difference between one TOR and the other, you could be correct. This is the kind of thing a dealer might not even notice, only someone familiar with the baffle-ectomy process in the case of the stockers, or staring at two slightly different TORS in your case. You should have matching silencers; talk to the dealer.

(Just caught rodburners comment. looks like my memory hasn't yet completely failed--just my eyes!)

Yes, take them back. They need to be both the same size to balance properly that's why one side is popping.

Don't let 'em give you any cr*p about your hat either....you look fine, really !

That's what I figured. Like an idiot, I assumed that I would have a good stretch of riding time, post accident, and post bike-in-shop for 7 bleedin weeks.
Nerts, I say!
