Man I hate good-byes, but...

I just closed the deal on the 1200R. It was a pretty good deal too. I had planned to add a Sprint ST to the stable and keep the Bonnie, but the Bimmer covers all of my needs in one bike, so it's bye-bye Bonnie

Mine's still in a crate, but here's what she'll look like:

R1200R

I'd just like to say what a pleasure it's been hanging out here. The bike, and the forum were a top notch introduction into the world of motorbikes. You all have entertained, informed, and inspired me in ways I'll always remember. Thank you.

Enjoy your riding season, keep the rubber side down, and God Bless.

Nathan

Nathan,
Awesome ride you're switching too! But I see no reason why you can't still pop in. Enjoy.

That looks a lot like the R1150R I had in '04. It was a great bike, it did everything well but...It was almost too perfect! It just didn't have the soul and charisma that made you want to stand around the garage or shed and oogle at it....I hope you'll be back....

Nathan: its been good having you with us and of course you are welcome to drop in any time. But sometimes we move on and I understand that. When I was riding Gold Wings I hung out on their web sites. I came here when I got the Tbird. That's how it works.

That is a FINE ride you have chosen. Enjoy it. Stay healthy and ride safely.

See you on the road.

I just got back from lunch, while at the BK I pulled up next to 3 "old" guys (I can say that) with 3 of of those beemers the R1200R, all of them were set up for touring . They had come from SoCal across the southern tier to Key West, up the east coast and now across the northern tier to Vancouver then home. The youngest of the 3 was my age (mid-50's). They were appreciative of my Bonnie but I got no 'wish I had one look,' they were happy with what they had and what they were doing; wish I could have gone to Vancouver with them. Its sunny here today, upper 60's with light winds. Enjoy that BMW, ride safe.

Thanks guys, I'm sure I'll drop in from time to time to read up on the Bonnie. Since I won't have the T100 anymore, I intend to earn my keep here at rat.net - I'll hold myself personally responsible for quickly and curtiously replying to every "Blue Pipes" thread that pops up.

That's a cool ride. I've never ridden a bimmer but they sure look cool. Glad you're happy.

Darn good bike..... good for 100,000 miles, and they just keep getting better as you log on the miles. I want soooo badly a new R1200R, but I don't think I'll ever have the money again.

By the way, "Bimmer" refers to the BMW cars, "Beemer" refers to the bikes.

I used to be a moderator on R1150R.org, hell.... I think they may still have my picture up at "Patrick's Playhouse" (long story, that one.... and others). The guy who rarely posts but may well be the ultimate authority on the 1150's and UJM's is "Cyclerob", look him up, visit, post your questions.

Tell 'em Pat sent ya..... ah hell, I'm sure I'm forgotten by now...

My '01 R1150RA in it's "naked" non-touring guise, and you shoulda seen it fully loaded with System Cases and Mag's Bags!
