Dropped the bike off at the dealership tonight for the 12k service and a couple other warranty issues, of major concern being that peeling paint in the tank. I discussed having to clean the carbs of paint flakes once already, and seems likely to recur. So hoping there is a replacement tank on the horizon. Other than that my thruxton has been mechanically flawless over the last 2 years...

05Truxter, the decision on warranty issues is up to Triumph, not the dealer. My dealer took pictures of the filler neck, examined a few other Bonnies which happened to be in the parking lot (some had the peeling paint), submitted the info and pictures to Triumph, and Triumph agreed to replace the tank.

It seem's your right about that - the dealer is checking with the manufacturer. I didn't find out if they took pictures and what will determine if it gets replaced. I hope Triumph has the sense to stand behind their products and replace the tank - if the paint has peeled and clogged the needle valves once already, what is going to stop it from continuing to peel more and cause carb problems again? For now, I'm waiting for the dealer to find out more.
