Had a moment going to work today, took AGES for the bonnie to start this morning, had no choice but to ride to work in the rain, then 3 miles away from work...pop pop splutter dead. pushed it for about a mile, then sat on it down a hill, tried starting it again then splutter back into life.

Sounded like a fuel starvation issue, especially at the bottom end.

I do have K & N pods so I dont know if that is an issue in the rain.

Please offer some help! thanks.

How does that cause the problems? I must admit I have been treating the poor thing as a bit of a workhorse recently, I am about to purchase a daily hack this week, bit of a coincidence the bonnie starts to get all arsey at the same time!

But still it is quite worrying as I do need her for the next 3 days before I can properly look at the carbs and bits.

There's a tip-over valve which can act up in the rain, scr#¤#¤ up the tank ventilation. starving the bike for fuel.

It does sound the most logical conclusion, something similar happened a couple of months ago, bike was running *****, huge backfire (as though she was venting out of her arse!) and then she was perfect :???: I assumed then that she was running lean on idle so i turned the mixture screws a bit.

Hasnt been raining for a few hours, just started her up and she sounds perfectly fine....

She had a moment yesterday but it wasnt the warmest (dryest) morning and i thought she was being a bit cold blooded.

Got me worried halfway between work and home! I just pray that the venting issue is the problem as I am certain it is a fuel starvation problem.
