just broke up with my girl of 2 years. We live(d) together. She's moving out. I want it to stick, not get back together. My plan is to hang out with my brother and friends a lot, and get my bike running and ride a lot, and spend a lot of time at the lake this summer, and drink a lot of lone star.

She's keeping the kid (hers) and dog (hers), and I'm keeping the house (mine). Going to be a rough couple of weeks. I'll miss the kid and dog more than her.

anyone else going through similar sheot this summer?

Sorry to hear things didn't work out Sweat. Time to focus on yourself and heal and move forward with your life.

I reckon the bike and riding with your mates will be a good distraction. Sounds like once your feeling better you'll be having a blast mate.

Good luck Hombre

Sorry to hear about that man. Times like this will make you realize how important your friends are. You will probably develop a better relationship with them through this. I'm sure spending time with your bike will help alot too. Live life like YOU want to. It's kind of relieving to be selfish and live life for you and your whims for a change. There are pros and cons to having a lady and not having a lady. I'm sure this experience will build your character and help you find what you want in the long run.

Now get your current girlfriend back together and gas her up so that you can get on with life!

Given the time put into your bike, I was wondering which--bike or girlfriend--would have to go. Now we'll all be constantly wondering what's going on with your bike AND with your personal life.

Thats tough,Jeff. I`ve been there a couple times.Only one piece of advice. Please ,please don`t start "spending time with friends" in a bar.Go somewhere,do something, but don`t drown your sorrow or celebrate your victory over womankind. The answers aren`t in the bottom of a pitcher. A new sweat-chick will be along shortly, and you don`t want to miss her cuz you passed out.

Losing a woman is tough - losing woman, kid and dog, much much tougher.

My heart goes out to you Jeff - it's just gonna hurt for awhile.

Stay busy.

Give yourself time.

"This too shall pass..."

Yep, focus on personal health. Lift some weights, rollerblade, walk... it is amazingly good for your head, as well as your bod.

Whoa, deja vu [all over again]. 1978 split up with my wife. She got the kid [hers], the dog [ours], the house, the car, the furniture, onandonandon. I split on the '72 Bonneville and drank for six months. One hell of a time! ***** near killed me.

Turned out well, however. Remarried to a great girl, have three daughters, and the most wonderful 27 years of my life. And hey, a new Bonneville in the garage to boot.

Hang in there, brother!

Rough couple weeks? Set her stuff on the curb instead of coming back into your house. Clean break, no need for further discussion.

Sorry to hear about the dog. Congratulations on getting your life back. Now you can work on your bike in the living room.

Lot of good advice above my friend, change in life is sometimes painful but essential and everything has advantages and disadvantages.
