Sorry to sound off, but there's no one here for me to complain to.

Beautiful 280 miles ride on the Bonnie today. Ran like she was afraid I was going to trade her! Mother's Day ...absolutely no traffic on any of my fav roads. Got home, decided the house needed some attention, as well as tending to the lack of groceries. Went to the store, came home with enough groceries to keep me going for a couple of weeks.

Cleaned the frig. Dumped old celery and lettuce down the disposal. Clogged the SOB. Plunger wouldn't work.

Ahh Haa! The little pressurized can that's guaranteed to blow any clog to h*** and back.

Didn't work. Blew a PVC joint apart under the sink, and the water went onto the basement ceiling over the pool table (good name for it now). It's Sunday at 8pm, and I know Ace Hardware is closed ...probably a good thing. I'm a bit tired after nearly 300 miles, and might start throwing things if the job went badly.

Cannot recall who recently posted tying a red ribbon on their bike to remind them to check out their work .... but it reminded me to do something similar on the sink faucet so I wouldn't forget and turn it on.

Basement carpet is pulled up in the wet area, section of padding has been cut out and run thru the washer on spin cycle, fan is on the pool table, hopefully it will dry with no water spot ...it has survived several beer spills.

Here's my question. Should I go to the trouble to grill a nice steak and nuke a potatoe, or simply drink the bottle of cheap red by itself?

Bob

Savor the great day's ride, eat the steak. And have a glass of wine, it's good for your heart.

Drink the wine first. It will me more effective. Then eat the steak and throw the potato at the sink. You will feel better.

It is a test grasshopper.

Can you smile at the sink?

If so, you have good lives ahead...

:-D

Truly.

Only the plumbing problem! The ride was as good as it gets.

Bob, I'm sorry it went badly for you with the plumbing.

NEVER put celery in a garbage disposal. Don't ask me how I know. I hate them so much that I removed the disposal from my kitchen sink years ago. Celery and anything else you'd toss down there belongs in the trash.

I did some plumbing myself this weekend, turned on the water in the bathroom sink before I reconnected the trap. Oops. We all do it.

<<plumbing>>
A co-worker of mine once used a co2 bottle to blow out a drain in his kitchen. Everything was fine it seemed, no pipes burst and the drain flowed free. It was at that point that his normally mild mannered and new to the USA neighbor came knocking, with an angry disheveled appearance, gesturing wildy with his hands and smelling rather like feces. "Rudy, what did you do? I hear noise in my bathroom and I open the door and, and, and. and.....S**T is coming flying out of the toilet!! It's all over the walls and me!!"
It was at that point that they discovered that thier old homes, built long before sewers were installed, had the sewer lines siamesed togther.....

Nasty .... don't think I want to ck with my neighbors ... but thanks for the heads up. if I hear of any complaints about ***** flying around their bathrooms, I'll look surprised.

D***** plumbing. I hate it just slightly worse than painting, which hits 10 on the Despise Meter.

And the moral of this story is, "When you cease doing that which brings you spiritual joy to attend to that which provides only temporal sustenance, an imbalance is created in your universe which can only lead to misfortune and unhappiness."

In other words, if you want good karma you should forget the chores and keep on riding. :hammer:
