This is a T100 I did for a friend of mine. He is going to finish it. He just wanted me to make & mock up a rolling chassy.

I say if you like choppers do it ! These aren't old vintage bikes that are disappearing or such. Same kind of thing happens with old guitar amps. Someone says they wanna mod it and everyone tells them they're crazy because they're destroying historical pieces. But new bonnies aren't an endangered species, plus it's your bike. So IMHO if you like choppers, i can't think of a better engine for a chopper. I think the twins look great for chopper engines. that said i wouldn't wany one. But i'd never dream of telling you not to because i don't like them. I personally like a bike that performs, and that includes handling. so no choppers for me, but if you like them go for it. I may not care for them but when done well a triumph based chopper can look nice. I just rarely see on that fits my perception of what they should look like to a T.

I don't like the ideal of it.... but hell, it's your bike so you go for it!

Post pics when you are done.

i didnt do anything yet. just wanted to test the waters. i know they started out with the cheaper stuff. but hey i have the bike now so its no use in selling it. i just wanted to really get it to look more like a regular bonneville and gt the paint redone and maybe a little wider tire in the rear and some straight pipes for the nice sound. im not gonna hack up the frame and make it a hardtail. the foot controls are all i need froma regular bonneville because i will fab up my own special clip ons.
Granted, this thread's a year old, but if the original poster is still reading and hasn't done anything to the bike yet, why not just trade it for a standard Bonneville? Seems ridiculous to convert a Thruxton back to a standard Bonnie -- not to mention an utter waste of money.
