Finally got around to getting rid of the airbox. Have had the TOR's for awhile now, but just haven't gotten around to it. Took a day off, tore it all apart, went 135s / 42s with 2 shims, 3 turns and 2.77mm hole. Got it back together and it actually started, which given my skills was no certainty.
Yeeee Haaaahhhhhhaaa!
Can't figure out why I waited so long! And I just love that intake honk. Reminds me of my Kawi 750 triple back in the day.

Rode with a guy this weekend who just bought one of those new HD Sportster Nightsters. He probably had a little more down low and in the mid range, but I had him on top. And we don't even have to mention the handling advantage, which is a big deal in my part of the world.
I have to admit his bike got some serious attention and the gas and bar stops. I've got the Bonnie looking pretty good and am used to getting all the attention at those stops. Don't know how many people have seen them yet, but the Nighster kind of has the early 50's bobber thing going, and it looks good. At least it did in my mirror.

I like those HD meals. Don't worry about the attention they may or may not get when they are parked. You'll be at the stop much sooner than him!

I had one in front of me on an on ramp yesterday. He pulled off fast out of the corner and casually looked back waiting for me to get smaller. Then he checked his mirror two or three times real quick as I punched it in third and caught him in fourth.
Respect the British bulldog between these knees!

That last part did not sound good. :hihi:

Yesterday I was one of only two (that I know of) Triumphs in a "Support the Troops" rally of thousands of Harleys. When we got to the rally area, I took a picture of my British Iron in the sea of Milwaukee hardware. I just noticed the guy looking at my T100.

The fun part of my sleeper 904 is the look on 1200 owners when I pull up on them at 70 mph in third and nail it. They figure I'm topped out at around 5k on the tach. Happened a couple of times already this spring and it sure is fun. This little stinker even surprised my buddy on his R6 in some twisties last week, but when he got his r's up on the straight, I was toasted.

Coincidentally, I pulled up next to a guy on a Nightster yesterday afternoon. Good lookin' bike. A minute later, another guy on one of those V-Rod black Special jimminy-janks. That's one tough looking bike, no doubt.

Two things I noticed about the V-Rod:

my (albeit) radically debaffled/perforated stock mufflers were louder than the Harley's (his bike sounded like a crotch rocket).

Foot controls are waaay forward. A short-legged person would have to sit on the tank to ride it.

Raproe -

Great picture. He has that inquisitive look like he's not sure what to do with the bike.

P.S. Do you need a new rear tire?
